His report will deal with two aspects of the Jewish's population envolvement into Latvian politics:
municipal and national elections,
as well as some referendums of specific interest to the Jewish population as part of national minority population
in Latvia, which provoked polarization among ethnic majority and national minorities
(the referendums of 1923 (religious buildings), 1927 (amendments to Latvian Citizenship law, so called “Yid” law),
1930(nationalisation of Riga Dome Cathedral))
during Latvians parliamentary era (1918-1940).
Furtheron a brief sketch of the impact of Ulmanis authoritarian regime on the life of Kuldiga Jewish population and
the elections of 1940.
